Book Redesign

Project Scope: Create a new book layout for the text "The Grid: History, Use, and Meaning".

Time Frame: One month

This project was completed in two stages. First stage was the text layout. Second stage was to add shapes, color and additional text inspired by the text.

The orginial text layout lacked organization and simplicity which drove my thought process with this project. For stage one I wanted to achieve was a consistent organization beteween paragraphs and their corresponding footnotes. The second consideration was the images which were all scaled larger and also corresponding with their references.

For the second stage I was inspired by the idea of knowing and breaking the rules. The lines in this case represent the text. The movement and change of color represents the importance of experimentation.
